Moving Forward

Although this book focuses on the overall use of XML and not XML syntax, we've covered many important details in this chapter. We have essentially gone through a crash course on the XML language, and we have pointed out some of the details we will be using in later chapters. Our overall objective here was to refresh the memory of you experienced XML developers, while at the same time providing a baseline for those of you new to the language.

At this point we are ready to jump into implementing XML within a large enterprise environment. The first step in this process is to determine the parser you want to use, and therefore the parsing method, which will be covered in Chapter 3.
